1931 - 2015

Bathurst - Mrs. Pauline Smith, 84, wife of Rufus Smith, of Garden St. Bathurst, passed away Tuesday May 19, 2015, at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst, after a brief illness.

Born in Bathurst, she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Agnes (Chamberlain) Lavigne.

Besides her husband, she was a dearly loved mother to five children:  Susan McKinnon (Peter) and Wayne Smith (Shawn), both of Bathurst, Karen Dupuis (Guy) and Marilyn Smith, both of Moncton and Donald Smith (Dorothy Elzinga) of Edmonton, AB.

Eleven grandchildren: Shelley, Michael, Jennifer, Krista, Holly, Otis, Evan, Derek, Kelsey, Scott, Dylan and nine great-grandchildren.

One sister, Marcella Gavin of London, Ont.

Three brothers:  Claude Lavigne (Marie) of Bathurst, Charles Lavigne (Ruth) of Sarnia, Ont. and David Lavigne (Juliette) of Beresford.  Several nieces and nephews.

There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home.  Funeral Service will be held on Friday morning May 22, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. from St. George's Anglican Church, King Ave., Bathurst, with Father Robert Barry officiating. 

Donations in memory of Pauline may be made to the St. George's Anglican Church or a charity of the donors choice.
