1930 - 2015
Mr. Thomas (Tommy) Cripps husband of the late Betty (Pinet) Cripps, of Bridge St., Bathurst, passed away surrounded by his family on Sunday, July 19, 2015, at the age of 85, at the Chaleur Regional Hospital in Bathurst after a brief illness. Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Daniel J. Cripps and Victoria Legacy.
Tommy is survived by his daughters: Lynda (Michael Duguay) and Susan (Robert "Buck" Hebert) both of Bathurst; granddaughter Melissa Duguay (J. P. Goulard), and two great grandchildren: Chase and Cali Elizabeth.
Three sisters: Margaret Rioux (late Paul), Teresa Murray (late Arthur "Bud"), Mary McBreen (Jim).
One brother, William "Billy" Cripps.
Seven sisters-in-law: Shelva Cripps (late Paddy), Joan Cripps (late Johnny), Ethel Ferguson (late Ken), Kathleen Doiron (late Antonio), Patsy Savoie (Clarence); Mildred Pinet (late Billy) and Anne-Marie Pinet (late Dennis).
Two brothers-in-law: Antoine Gosselin (late Winnie) and Rosario Morais (late Jean); many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers: Johnny (Joan), Patrick "Paddy" (Shelva), and a sister, Eleanor.
Tommy was retired from the Stone Consolidated Mill having worked there as a papermaker most of his adult life. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion and served in the armed forces in the late 1940 s and early 1950s .
Family will receive friends and visitors at Elhatton’s Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst, on Thursday, July 23, 2015 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, July 24 at 11 a.m. from the Sacred Heart Cathedral, St. Andrew St., Bathurst
Donations in memory of Tommy can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Royal Canadian Legion Herman J. Good Branch, the Chaleur Regional Hospital Foundation or a favourite charity.
