It is with great sadness that our family announces the death of our beloved Charlie McAleenan who passed away suddenly on August 11, 2015 at the age of 77.
Born in St. Stephen, N.B., he was the son of the late Jack and Rita (Forgeron) McAleenan.
Charlie is survived by his loving wife, Ida (Doucet).
One son, Robert (Brenda) of Toronto.
Two daughters: Susan (Andrew) of Edmonton and Karen of Fredericton.
One very special granddaughter, Alisha.
Two sisters: Anne-Marie McAleenan and Patricia (Jerry) Ford; and numerous extended family members.
Charlie followed his passion with a career as a wildlife technician with the Department of Natural Resources for 35 years. He loved fishing, trapping, hunting as well as fly-tying and was a mentor to many.
Charlie’s family & friends meant the world to him and he was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.
Visitation will be held at Elhatton’s Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com) Bathurst on Thursday August 13th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral services will be celebrated on Friday August 14th 2015 at 11am from Holy Family Church.
Donations in memory of Charlie, may be made to the NB Lung Association or a favorite charity.
