Bathurst – Aurèle Brideau, passed away on Thursday August 13, 2015, at the age of 93, at the Foyer Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes, Bathurst.
Born in St-Isidore, he was the son of the late Joseph Raymond and Marie Louise (Landry) Brideau.
Aurèle was retired from the former Brunswick Mines, he was one of the founders of the Brunswick Mines Caisse Populaire, former director of the Caisse Populaire Ste-Famille, member of the Cursiio Movement and 3rd Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus, Bathurst.
Besides his wife, Rose (Brideau) Brideau of Bathurst, he is survived by a daughter, Colette Van Buskirk de Bathurst.
Two grandchildren: Robin and Stacey (Travis MacLeod). Two great-grandchildren: Colin and Lily.
One sister, Jeanne Basque (feu Jean) of St-Amable, Que. Several nieces and nephews.
He was pre-deceased by six brothers: Alfred, Édouard, Ludger, Stanislas, Jean and Napoléon and one sister, Imelda Basque.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Elhatton’s Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst on Monday, August 17, 2015 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday afternoon August 18, 2015 at 2 p.m. from Our Lady of the Rosary Church, Bathurst.
