J. Leonard 'Red' Daigle, 64, of St. Simon St., Bathurst, occurred Saturday (January 1, 2005) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst. Born in South Tetagouche, he was the son of the late James and Celina (Legacy) Daigle. He served 25 years in the Canadian Army in Canada and overseas in peace keeping duties. He was a member of the Herman J. Good, V.C. Br. 18, Royal Canadian Legion, Bathurst, and was a former member of the Bathurst Curling Club and was the ice maker for a period of time.\ He is survived by his wife, Joyce Hachey. One son, Steven Daigle of Pheonix, Arizona, USA, one sister, Yvonne Peters of Bathurst and several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by a sister, Leona. There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday (January 5, 2005) at 2:00 p.m. from Elhatton's Funeral Home Chapel, St. George St. with Father Wesley Wade officiating. A Legion service will be held during the memorial.
