1941 - 2016
Remembering his laughter, it is in sadness that we announce the passing of Gerald Sivret, which occurred on March 8, 2016 at the Chaleur regional Hospital, at the age of 74.
Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Martin and Eleonore (Couture) Sivret.
He leaves behind his two best friends, his sons: John (Gaby) and Jason (Melanie).
Four grandchildren: Stephanie, Crystal, Nadine and Maliah.
One great grandchild, Tristen.
Two sisters: Geraldine (Harvey) Coll and Anne Marie (Greg) Melanson; his private nurse, special sister-in-law, Helen Sivret.
Gerald was special in the hearts of his many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by two brothers: Leonide and Ronald.
Following in the footsteps of his father and alongside his brother Ron, Gerald was a bricklayer by trade. A great number of brick buildings in Bathurst have the Sivret touch on them. Gerald lived his life with humour and laughter. He loved playing tricks on people and making them laughs. He had many interests such as: darts, hockey, cooking and oh how he loved food. Gerald recognized all of his blessings and was grateful to God for them.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Elhatton Funeral Home, Bathurst, (www.elhatton.com) on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at 2 p.m. at the Sacred Heart Cathedral, St. Andrew St, Bathurst.
Donations in memory of Gerald may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
