It is with great sadness that we the family announce the sudden death of Lucien Hachey, age 69, which occurred on Monday, March 21, 2016, at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst. Born in Middle River, N.B., but living in Saint-Thérèse Sud, N.B., he was the son of the late Emile T. and Célia (Duguay) Hachey.
He was the dearly beloved spouse of Marie-Thérèse Losier, originally of Ste-Rose and attentive father of his only son, Marc-André Hachey of Sherbrooke, Que., whom he loved greatly.
He is also survived by two sisters: Émilienne Savoie (late Antoine) of Beresford and Cécile Hachey of Fredericton.
One brother, Richard Hachey (Noëlla) of Middle River and ex brother-in-law, Edouard Savoie of Neguac.
Two godchildren: Ghislaine Savoie of Moncton and Mariette Savoie of Edmundston.
His mother-in-law, Angélina Losier (late Alexandre) residing at the Résidence Florence of Landry Office but formerly of Ste-Rose.
This is in addition to a number of brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and numerous friends.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Claude; a niece, Anne and his father-in-law, Alexandre Losier.
Lucien was a skilled miner and had dedicated most of his life to underground mining, but silicosis finally brought him to the surface to work as a handyman. He most notably left his mark at Nigadoo Mines, Heath Steele and Brunswick Mine where he worked until their closures.
