1959 - 2016
Suzanne Amy Dechert (nee Willett) peacefully passed away April 30, 2016, at the age of 57, with her husband at her side at the Royal Inland Hospital, Kamloops, BC after a brief battle with cancer. She was born in Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec.
She graduated from École Secondaire Népisiguit (1977) in Bathurst, NB and enjoyed a 25 year career at Brunswick Mines. Suzanne was the beloved wife to Christopher Dechert; devoted mother to son, Gregg Roberts (Jocelyn Allaby) of Fredericton and doting grandmother to Caleb Roberts.
Suzanne lived life to the fullest; travelling the world and living abroad; experiencing different cultures and creating life-long friendships along the way. She enjoyed simple pleasures; countless walks with her beloved dog; dinners with friends; taking a drive to view the natural beauty that surrounded her. She was a remarkable person that impacted so many. Gone too soon but her memory will be treasured forever.
She is survived by her parents: Grant and Georgette (Lemire) Willett of Bathurst.
Six brothers: Mathieu (Marie Rioux)of Sept-Iles, QC, Gary (Rita) of Bathurst, Arthur (Nicole Duguay) of Gatineau, QC, Michael (Debbie) of Fort McMurray, AB, Marc (Sharon) and Allan (Debbie) both of Bathurst, NB.
One sister, Sacha Willett of Sept-Iles, QC.
Several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Suzanne's life will be held this Saturday in Kamloops, BC. www.schoeningfuneralservice.com
The family will receive friends at the Elhatton’s Funeral Home, 187 St. George St, Bathurst, NB on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Holy Family Church, 430 St. Peter Ave, Bathurst, NB on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at 11:00 am.
Interment will follow in the Holy Rosary Cemetery in Bathurst, NB.
Remembrances in memory of Suzanne may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
