1936 - 2016

Bathurst - Mrs. Mabel Girouard, wife of Vincent Girouard, of Palmer Dr. Bathurst, passed away suddenly on Friday July 15, 2016, at her residence at the age of 80.

Born in Bouctouche, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Emma (Saulnier) Carroll.

She was a member of Gowan Brae Golf Club and was the recipient of the 2010 National Memorial (Silver) Cross Mother.

Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons: Peter (Gail) of Bathurst and Charles (Lane) of Toronto, ON.  Seven grandchildren, Kyle, Corey, Avery, Quinn, Robert, Jocelyn, Michael; five great-grandchildren, Myles, Chase, Portia, Nicholas and Christopher.

Two brothers:  Jimmy Carroll (Rose) and Walter Carroll (Jocelyn) both of Bouctouche.  Three sisters: Alice Polardy (Ed) of Montreal, Geraldine Carroll and Jessie Kinney (Charles) both of Moncton.  Several nieces and nephews.

She was pre-deceased by a son, Robert "Bobby".

There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday July 20, 2016 at 11 a.m. from Holy Family Church, St. Peter Ave., Bathurst.  Donations in memory of Mabel may be made to a charity of the donors choice.  Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton's Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.
