1916 - 2016

It is with sadness the family announces the passing of Edgar Doucet, formerly of Miramichi Ave, which occurred at the Foyer Notre Dame de Lourdes on Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at the age of 99.

Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Charles and Lorette (Doucet) Doucet.

He worked for the City of Bathurst for 34 years until his retirement in 1984.  Being a very generous and hospitable man, he always enjoyed family and friends around him.

He is survived by his wife of 74 years, Dorina (Doucet).  One son: Donald (late Paula) Doucet of Bathurst.  Two daughters: Rose-Marie Kennett (Richard) of Vancouver and Diane Frenette (Paul-Emile) of Beresford.   Eight grandchildren:  Sonia, Jason, Brian, Denis, Eric, Crystal, Kayla and Meaghan.

Seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Theresa O’Donnell of Winnipeg; one brother, Romeo Doucet of Bathurst.  Several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by two sons, Paul-Raymond and Roger, four brothers, Ignatius, Alban, Raymond and Gerry, and two sisters, Rita and Lorette.

There will be no visitation at the funeral home.  The Funeral Service will be held from the Elhatton Funeral Chapel on Saturday, August 6th, 2016 at 11 a.m.  In Memory of Edgar, donations may be made to the Foyer Notre Dame de Lourdes or a charity of the donor’s choice.  Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.
