1924 – 2016

Bathurst - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Clifford "Cléophas" Couture, formerly of Rough Waters Dr., Bathurst, who passed away at the age 91 at La Villa Sormany, Robertville on Friday, August 5, 2016. He was the husband of the late Thérèse (Duclos) Couture.

Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Joseph Couture and late Lucie (Cormier) Couture.

He had worked as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic for the City of Bathurst until his retirement. He was a Grand Knight of the Order of the Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by 3 daughters: Hélène Sivret (late Ronald), Annette Couture and Paulette Couture Sheppard (Winston) all of Bathurst, and 1 son Roland Couture (Bernard) of Moncton; 8 grand-children, Daniel, Luc, Rachel, Renée, Todd, Cheryl, Sébastien and Isabelle; and 10 great grandchildren.  Several nieces and nephews.

Clifford was the last of his immediate family to depart. He was pre-deceased by Eldon, Raymond, Artémise, Agate, Hazel, Violet, Florella and Albain.

He will be sadly missed by his family.

There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday August 10, 2016 at 11 a.m. from the Sacred Heart Cathedral, St. Andrew St., Bathurst. 

Donations in memory of Clifford may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of the donors choice.
