1931 - 2016

The family wishes to announce the passing of Eleanor Christie, formerly of Princess Drive, Bathurst, which occurred at the Foyer Notre Dame de Lourdes on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at the age of 85.

Born in Beresford, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Elizabeth (Bryar) Christie.

Eleanor spent most of her life in Moncton, working as a nurse assistant at the University of Moncton until her retirement.  She was an avid water color artist.

Eleanor is survived by her sister, Marjorie (Roman) White and one sister-in-law, Jean Christie.

Nieces; nephews and godchild, Kevin (Nicole) White, Carl (Christine) White, Robert "Bobby" (Olivette) Christie, David (Anne) Christie, Lynn Lavigne, Colleen White, Karen Christie, and Dianne (Greg) Baker.

She is also survived by four grand-nephews and five grand-nieces.

She was predeceased by two brothers: Clarence and Emery; one sister, Elizabeth (Betty) Christie.

There will be no visitation at the funeral home.

Funeral service will be celebrated on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at 10 am from Elhatton Funeral Chapel (www.elhatton.com).

In memory of Eleanor, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of NB, or the Foyer Notre Dame du Lourdes Foundation or a charity of the donor's choice.
