Clifton, NB – Coleen, Noah, Abby, along with family and friends are heartbroken to announce the passing of Ernie Savoie, 53, of Clifton, who passed away on Saturday September 10, 2016, at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst, after a proud battle with cancer.
Born in Moncton, he was the son of the late Alyre and Marie (Robichaud) Savoie.
Ernie was a man of strength, courage and perseverance. He did not let cancer take over his life but instead took back his life living each and every day to the fullest. Ernie touched many lives with his outlook of "It is what it is", he taught people to live life and don’t put things off and enjoy the people and things you love every single day. Ernie worked as a School Bus driver, owner of East Coast Shrink Wrap and Abby’s Lunch Box.
Besides his wife, Coleen (Ellis) Savoie, he is survived by two children: Noah and Abby both at home. Two brothers: Alban Savoie (Joanne) of Bathurst and Kevin Savoie (Lyne) of Montreal. Two sisters: Aline Savoie of Fredericton and Annette Kane (Daniel) of Calgary, AB. His in-laws, James and Lillian Ellis of Clifton. Brother-in-law, Darren Ellis (Victoria) of Janeville. Several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was pre-deceased by a brother, Denis and a sister, Marie Paula Ann.
The family will receive relatives and friends after 2 p.m. Friday at Elhatton's Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday September 17, 2016 at 3 p.m. from Central United Church, Clifton. Visiting hours are Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Donations in memory of Ernie may be made to the Stonehaven Cemetery, the Extra Mural Program or a charity of the donors choice.
