It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Alvin LeCouter, formerly of Young Street in South Bathurst, husband of the late Muriel (Lol) LeCouter, at the Chaleur Regional Hospital in Bathurst on Tuesday February 21, 2017 at the age of 80.
Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Lawrence LeCouter and Zelica Laroque.
He is survived by his daughter Susie (Chris Kane) of Beresford, son David LeCouter of Dieppe, and by four grandchildren that he absolutely adored: Janika, Rebecca, Molly and Joey.
He is also survived by his brother Leo LeCouter of Big River and his sister Ola LaMothe of Val d’Or, PQ.
Also mourning are dear friends and in-laws Raymond & Lulu Babin, Nan & Gerry Comeau, Doris & Mel McCreavey and Luncie; nieces Missy, Meagan and Katie, and nephew Brad.
Besides his parents, he was pre-deceased by brothers Alphonse & Donat and sisters Mayda, Martha, Edwinda, Yvonne & Martina.
Alvin worked at Brunswick Mines for many years as well as for several mining contractors until his retirement in the early nineties.
He enjoyed bowling, playing cards, horseshoes, a good boiled dinner, country music and taking care of his grandchildren. He loved the Leafs and hated the Habs, but the Jays were his number one sports team; he rarely, if ever, missed a Blue Jays game.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Cathedral on Saturday February 25, 2017 at 10 a.m. Donations in memory of Alvin to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of the donors choice would appreciate by the family.
