Bathurst - It is with great sadness that we the family announce the passing of our dear father, Albert J. Noël, husband of Clémentine Noël, which occurred Wednesday July 19 ,2017, at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst, at the age of 95 years and 11 months. He was a resident of the Robert L. Knowles Veterans Unit in Bathurst.
Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Majorique and Bernadette (Haché) Noël.
Besides his wife of 69 years of marriage, he is survived by seven sons: Alcide (Carole) and Michel (Linda) both of Pointe-Verte, Jean (Linda) of Burnaby, BC, Claude (Linda) and Gérard (Irène) both of Bathurst, Norman (Rosa) of Moncton and Albert (Joanne) of Memramcook. Three daughters: Adrienne Roherty (Jim) of Petit-Rocher Nord, Bernice Roy (Valmond) of Robertville and Carol Doucet (Roger) of Bathurst.
24 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
One sister, Léona Pitre of Bathurst and several nieces and nephews.
He was pre-deceased by seven brothers and one sister.
Albert was a veteran of World War II with the North Shore Regiment and served in Canada and overseas. He was a member of the Herman J. Good, V.C. Br. 18 Royal Canadian Legion, Bathurst.
Upon leaving the army, he worked as a shoemaker, woodsman and finally as a carpenter until his retirement. He loved hunting, fishing and spending time at his camp with his family.
The family would like to extend a sincere "Thank You" the Doctors and staff of the Chaleur Regional Hospital Palliative Care Unit, staff of the Veterans Unit and Elhatton's Funeral Home.
There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday July 21 2017 at 4 p.m. from Our Lady of the Rosary Church, St. Peter Ave., Bathurst. Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.
