Mr. Roger Legacy of Big River passed away at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst on Thursday August 31 2017 at the age of 77, husband of 54 years of Louise Legacy (LeBlanc).
Born in Bathurst he was the son of the late Alphé Lagacé and Isabelle Thibeault.
He worked with CNR and the former Consolidated Bathurst Paper Mill, before going back to college to become carpenter and for 23 years was a operating his own Contracting Company. In his retirement he enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cards and spending time with family and friends.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons: Stephen (Kelly) Legacy and Ricky (Brenda) Legacy both of Bathurst and one daughter, Debbie Legacy of Dieppe.
Four grandchildren: Melissa Pitre, Ashley Legacy, Alex Cormier and Simon Cormier
One Great grandchild, Miguel Pitre
Two brothers: Lionel (Mary Lou) Legacy and Ronald Legacy.
Six sisters: Geraldine (Eddy) Comeau, Janet (John) Surette, Lina (Raymond) Babin, Murielle (Alexandre) Chamberlain, Collette (Steve) Stinsin, Lorraine (Cyril Bérubé) Babin. Several nieces and nephews
There will be no visitation at the funeral home. The funeral mass will be held at Holy Family church, Bathurst on Tuesday September 5,2017 at 2 p.m.
Donations in memory of Roger can be made to the heart and stroke foundation.
