Doris Elizabeth "Betty" Anderson - Shawinigan, QC, nee (Miller) died suddenly on Jan. 11 in Shawinigan, QC at the age of 77.
She was predeceased by her parents John Greening Miller and Helen Diamond, brother George Miller (Dorothy Wood, Betsy Miller), as well as her husband, Robert A. "Bob" Anderson.
She is survived by her daughter Andrea Anderson (Greg Burns, Macungie PA), sister Judith Webb (London, ON), granddaughters Elizabeth and Emily, Nieces Debbie, Deanna, Sandy, Lori and Nephew Glenn.
Born in Montreal, she attended St. Laurent High School and was a multi-sport award winning athlete.
She worked at Bell Telephone, General Motors, and eventually alongside her husband and owner at the former Brunswick Pontiac Buick GMC, Ltd. on Miramichi Ave. where they ran a successful dealership for many years until their retirement.
Personable, warm, outgoing, she was a fun spirit who loved to entertain with her friends and family. Betty loved music and singing, and could be heard at any get together telling stories, laughing and singing. In her younger days, she had a passion for skiing. She lived for the weekends spending her time on the slopes of Mt. Tremblant with close friends and family.
She had a love of cooking and enjoyed preparing delicious French Canadian dishes when she had company.
But her true passion later on in life were her granddaughters Elizabeth and Emily.
She cherished and spoiled them and especially loved spending time together during special occasions, summer/ski vacations, birthdays, and the Christmas Holidays.
She will be truly missed by her many friends and family.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of one's choice.
As per Betty’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral services at this time.
A celebration of her life will be held at a later date in the Spring/Summer.
