It’s with sad hearts we, the family, announce the passing of George Dargavel of Nigadoo, NB which occured Wednesday, October 3rd, 2018 at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst.
Born in Molus River, NB, a small farming community 10 miles north of Rexton (NB), George was a plumber pipefitter and belonged to local 325 union for many years. He traveled to many areas in Canada for his job.
George’s passion in life was his family, fishing and hunting, and travelling in woods on his 4 wheelers. He liked camping in the summer months with his family and spending time at his camp in Molus River.
George was the son of the late Lyle C. Dargavel and Agnes Gaylor Dargavel of Molus River.
George is survived by his beloved wife, Elsie (Cail) Dargavel, also by three sons, Bruce (Carole) Dargavel of Petit-Rocher, Lyle (Rachel Frenette) Dargavel of Tremblay, Jeremy (France) Dargavel of Quispamsis, and two daughters, Bonnie (Randy Rector) of Oxford, NS and Wanda (Pierre) St-Laurent of Petit-Rocher.
He will be sadly missed by his 12 grandkids, Jonathan, Mathieu, Rémy, René, Cynthia, Jason, Alyson, Brian, Randy, Jamie, Lyle and Jessica, and by his 7 great grand kids, Alexandre, Faith, Kéliane, Sophie, Noah, Dominic and Mélodie; his sister Eugene Dargavel, his brother in law Charles Murphy and two sisters in laws Joan Dargavel and Shirley Cail.
George is predeceased by five brothers, James Garfield, Donald, Lee, James Lyle and Thomas Robert, and by six sisters, Winnifred, Beatrice, Patricia, Blanche, Eileen and Dorothy.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Elhatton Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst on Wednesday, October 10th, 2018 from 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held Thursday, October 11th at 2 p.m. at the St. Stephens United Church in Molus River.
Donations in memory of George may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
