With deep sadness we the family, share the passing of Mary Claire Kenny, of Basin St., Bathurst, at the age of 73, at the Chaleur Regional hospital in Bathurst on Sunday, October 20, 2019.
She was born in Miscouche, PEI to the late Jerome “Jerry” and Bernadette (Desroches) Richard.
Mary Claire was a retired nurse who graduated from the Bathurst school of nursing at the old Hotel Dieu here in Bathurst. Besides being a wonderful wife to Donald, she retired as a nurse to become a devoted mother to her two beautiful boys, whom she dearly loved, as she said when they both came to her, that she will always be home when the boys would come through the door. She was a member of the Catholic Women’s League for more than 40 years and also a Scout Leader.
Besides her husband Donald, she is survived by her adoring two sons Alan (Wendy Paris) Centerville NB, Dale (Ayako) Fredericton NB and the love of her life, grandson Sho Andrew. She is also survived as well by her only sister Betty (Late Norman Lapearle) of Sun City West, Arizona and a special mention to her cousin Mary Richard of Bangor, Maine and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday October 27, from 2 to 4 p.m at Elhatton’s Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday October 28, 2019 at 11 AM from the Sacred Heart Cathedral, Bathurst followed by a reception. Donations in memory Mary Claire may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a favorite charity.
