It is with sadness the family announces the passing of Garnet Coombs, formerly of Miramichi Road, which occurred at the Foyer Notre Dame de Lourdes, Bathurst, on Thursday February 20, 2020, at the age of 77.

Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Clarence and Bernardine (Legacy) Coombs. 

He worked for over 30 years at the former Consolidated Stone Sawmill.  

Besides his wife, Jean (Carroll) Coombs, he is survived by his children: Stacey Couture (Alban), Blake Coombs (Melanie Belanger) and Amanda Coombs all of Bathurst. 

Four grandchildren: Austin, Cody, Jesse and Ashton. 

Four brothers: Clifford Coombs and Laurie Coombs both of Miramichi Road, Harvey Coombs (Debra) Poirier Subdivision, Stuart Coombs (Gail) of Bathurst. 

Three sisters: Lorna Robichaud (Rick Young) of Bathurst, Marlene Alexander (Ron) of Miramichi Road and Irma Gallant (Tom) of North Tetagouche. 

Several nieces and nephews. 

He was predeceased by four brothers, Glenn, Dale, John, Wayne and one sister, Shirley. 

There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home. Funeral service will be celebrated at 4 p.m. on Tuesday February 25, 2020 from the Funeral Home Chapel. Donations in memory of Garnet may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society or a charity of the donor's choice. Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.
