With sad hearts, the family of Mario Buraglia, 89, announce his passing on Sunday, March 1, 2020 at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst. He is survived by his loving wife Gladys, daughter Linda (Ed) of Nova Scotia, son Rocco of Alberta, granddaughter Roxanne Sweeney of Florida, several nieces and nephews.
Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Thomas and Ethel (Kenny) Buraglia, and the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was predeceased by 4 brothers and 4 sisters: Claude, Margrete, Lillian, Carmella, Emmanuel, Constance, Reggie and Roger.
He owned and operated Mario’s Metals for many years. Well known and liked for his honesty and kindness, his sense of humour and loyalty to family and friends. His natural ability operating machinery and his entrepreneurial spirit were passed on to his son Rocco. In retirement he enjoyed meeting his friends for coffee each morning, daily drives to the beach and annually winters in Florida. In all his activities, he appreciated his time with friends.
Many thanks to the staff of the Prestige for their excellent and loving care and the staff of 4 East and Palliative Care of Chaleur Regional Hosptial.
