Marie Mona de Silva would like to announce that her work here on earth has ended.
Passing away Friday, August 28th, 2020, at the age of 88, Mona was predeceased by her parents Napoléon “Paul” and Eva de Silva (Lanteigne), brothers : Earl, Omer (Edna Arseneault), and Eloi (Angelina Poirier) as well as her sisters: Sœur Clare, Vina and Géraldine (Aurèle Boucher).
Mona is survived by her sister, Violet Boucher (David) and will never be forgotten by her many nieces and nephews: Helen May Ross (Andrew), Marie Claire Doctor (Charles ), Eva Forbes (Don), Monique Arseneault (Florian), Mitchell Boucher, Neil Boucher (Joanne), Joanne Whipple (David), Paul de Silva (Anita), Denis de Silva, Michael de Silva ( Shelly), Marjorie May Griffin (Dan), David de Silva (Susan), Norman de Silva (Tena), Roger de Silva (Natalie), Shirley de Silva (Daniel Pereira), Mélas Boucher as well as their extended families.
She will be remembered for her smile, her energy, her love of discussion, genealogy of family, friends and many acquaintances who became friends over the years. Mona was a hard worker throughout her entire life, having lived life independently right up to the very end.
The family wishes to thank those who share their grief as well as those who offered their care and compassion during her last days.
The family invite relatives and friends to join them on Wednesday, September 2nd from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Thursday, September 3rd from 12 noon to 1:30 p.m. at Elhatton’s Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.
A funeral mass will be celebrated Thursday, September 3rd, 2020 from Sacred Heart Cathedral, followed by the burial at Sacred Heart Cemetery in South Bathurst. Due to the existing restrictions surrounding the pandemic, please call 506-655-7590 to confirm your attendance at the funeral
