Pointe-Verte, NB - Patrice Jean, 89, of Pointe-Verte, passed away on Monday September 6, 2021, at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst after a long battle with COPD and cancer.
Born in Pointe-Verte, he was the son of the late Eugène and Rose (Guerette) Jean.
Besides his wife of 67 years, Rina (Lagacé) Jean, he is survived by four children: Solange (Jean-Guy) Haché, Albert (Danielle)Jean and Patricia Jean all of Pointe-Verte and Jacqueline Jean of Lower Sackville, NS, five grandchildren: Melanie, Natalie, Jérémie, Aidan, Triniti; five great-grandchildren: Nicholas, Emily, Keira, Jordan and Jocelyn, two brothers: Armel(Gisèle)Jean of Repentigny, QC and Paul-Émile (Marie-Reine)Jean of Pointe-Verte and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was pre-deceased by four brothers: Léon, Raoul and two in infancy and a sister, Angelina.
He worked for over 40 years in the Paper Mill Industry in Red Rock, ON, before retiring and returning to his home. Member of the Knights of Columbus Msgr Arsène Richard, Council #9994, Pointe-Verte.
The family will receive relatives and friends after 7 p.m. Sunday at Heritage Funeral Home (www.mfheritage.com), Beresford. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday September 13, 2021, at 4 p.m. from Église St-Vincent-de-Paul, Pointe-Verte. Visiting hours are Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 2 p.m. until time of Funeral. Donations in memory of Patrice may be made to the Lung Association or a favorite charity. The family would like to thank the Extra Mural Program for the excellent care given to Patrice during his illness.
