Mrs. Eva Gladys Lula Miller-Hillock peacefully passed into the caring arms of God on Sunday, September 26, 2021 at the age of 85 years.
Born in New Bandon, NB, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Nina Jean (Sealy) Hillock.
She is survived by one sister, Roberta DeCourville (Richard) of Stonehaven and one brother, Boyd Hillock (Theresa) of Miramichi.
Eva was predeceased by brothers, Ernest, Elgin, Ronald, Glendon and her sister Jean.
Married to the late Sydney Robert Miller of Salmon Beach, she is survived by and will be greatly missed by her three sons, Paul (Juliette) of Sydney, Australia, Lorey (Barbara) of Carleton Place, Ontario and Mark of Kingston, Ontario. She was also survived by several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was also predeceased by an infant daughter.
Eva lived and worked in Etobicoke for over 40 years and retired as an executive receptionist with the Ontario Institute of Chartered Accountants.
Eva was a spirited and spiritual person. She keenly studied the Bible and often quoted Biblical passages in her frequent correspondence with her family and friends. She held steadfast in her Faith over the past two months at St. Joseph’s Hospital, where she was being cared for. Special thanks to Dr. Parente and the thoracic surgical team at St. Joseph’s Etobicoke.
Eva made her final journey home to rest in peace with her parents and siblings and will be interred at the St. Alban’s cemetery in Bathurst. The Reverend Paul Gwese of the Anglican Parish of New Bandon officiating the graveside memorial on Monday, October 4, 2021 at 4 p.m.
