It is with great sadness that the family of Robert “Bob” Doucet of Bathurst announce his passing on February 15th, 2022, at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst.
Born in Bathurst, Bob was the son of the late Leo P. and late Lila (Dumas) Doucet.
He will be sadly missed by his sons: Jeffrey (Christine Thompson) and Mark, both of Calgary, Bobby (Sandra) and daughter and caretaker Jennifer (Paul Lavigne) both of Bathurst, as well as his 12 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Two sisters: Royetta LeBlanc and Joan Blanchard, both of Bathurst.
Besides his parents, Bob was predeceased by his loving wife Evelyn (Cormier) Doucet; his sons Douglas, Gary and his siblings - Kenneth, Ronald, Reginald, Blair, Eleanor and Betty.
Bob was a proud member of the Canadian Forces, having served in the 1st Airborne on the Princess Patricia. He worked at the former Bathurst Pulp and Paper for 31 years and spent much of his leisure time in the outdoors - fishing and hunting. He will be fondly remembered by family and many friends for his laughter and his willingness to lend a helping hand when needed.
The family wishes to thank staff on the 2nd and 4th floors of the Bathurst Hospital and at Southern Comfort for the care given to their Dad in his final months.
There will be no visitation at this time. A family service will be held at a later date. Donations in memory of Bob may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a favorite charity. Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton’s Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.
