It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Alcide Pitre which occurred at the Villa Sormany in Robertville on Friday April 22, 2022 at the age of 80.
Born in Bathurst he was the son of the late André and Evelyne (Boudreau) Pitre.
Alcide was blessed with a large and loving family. He and his teenage sweetheart, Norma (Cyr) Pitre enjoyed 59 years of marriage.
He was extremely proud of their five children: Pauline Pitre-Savoie (Rodrigue Savoie), Nicole Godin (Michel), Pierre Pitre (Rachel), Lisa Mallet (Marc) and Sonia Pitre (Réjean Legacy), his nine grandchildren: Danie, Marie-Claude, Maryse, Caroline, Christian, Antoni, Jean-Christophe, Chloé and Joey; and his two great-grandchildren Livia and Cédric whom he adored.
He shared his love of music and instilled respect, integrity, responsibility, and team spirit. During the last years, he also showed them how to face their troubles with courage, humour and composure.
He is also survived by two sisters and two brothers: Fernande Boudreau (André), Roger Pitre, Alvin Pitre (Gisèle) and Noëlla Pitre (Léonard Lanteigne) as well as many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Camilla and an infant brother.
Alcide was retired from Canada Post. He was a 4th degree member and past Grand Knight of the Holy Rosary Council #12215 Knights of Columbus.
The family would like to thank the personnel at the Villa Sormany for the excellent care given to Alcide during his stay.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, May 6th, 2022 at 4 p.m. from Holy Rosary Church, Bathurst.
Donations in memory of Alcide may be made to Arthritis Society or a charity of the donor’s choice.
