Eileen Roy Lavigne passed away peacefully at the Foyer Notre Dame-de-Lourdes in Bathurst on Wednesday June 15th, 2022 at the age of 67.
Born in Bathurst, she was the daughter of the late Bazil and Leona (Daigle) Henry.
She is survived by her loving husband Herbert Lavigne of Bathurst.
Two sons: Ronald Roy (Melissa Frenette) of Chamberlain Settlement and Bruce Roy of Windsor, ON.
She is survived by two brothers: Oliver (Brenda) and Lawrence (Cathy) both of North Wiltshire, P.E.I.
Three sisters: Mary Legacy (Leo) of Petit Rocher, Caroline Henry (Jean-Claude Chiasson) of Bathurst and Robina Legacy (Alvin) of Saint-Anne.
Several nieces and nephews and special friends.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother Joseph and her first husband Alcide Roy.
Eileen lived a life of happiness and touched anyone she met with her smile and outgoing character; she could be seen selling the Northern Light at various locations over the years. Eileen was a recipient of the key to the City of Bathurst for her dedication in community service, a member of the C.W.L. and she was also heavily involved with the Ideal Center and a key member in naming of the Center.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, June 21, 2022 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Elhatton Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), St. George St, Bathurst. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 from Sacred Heart Cathedral, St. Andrew St.
Donations in memory of Eileen may be made to the Foyer Notre Dame de Lourdes or a charity of the donor's choice.
