It is with sadness that the family of Jack A. DeHaitre (Bumpie) announce his passing at the Foyer Notre Dame de Lourdes on June 27, 2022 at the age of 86. Born in Montreal, he was the son of the late Emile and Lesley (Troughton) DeHaitre.
Jack served in the Royal Canadian Navy. He owned and operated Grand Anse Beverages and later the Bathurst Bowlarama. He was founder of the Bathurst Bay Breakfast and volunteered for many organizations. He was forever ready to lend a helping hand to others. (Mr. Fixit).
He will be sadly missed by his wife, Evangeline (Firlotte) DeHaitre, his sons Jack Jr., Wayne (Shirley), Raymond (Helen) and daughter Suzanne. He had 8 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. One sister, Patricia Boyd and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Jack was predeceased by 2 sons, Michael and Donnie.
The family would like to thank the staff of the E wing at the Foyer Notre Dame de Lourdes for the special care and kindness. He loved all of you.
As per Jack’s wishes, cremation will take place and burial at a later date.
Donations in memory of Jack may be made to the Foyer Notre Dame de Lourdes or a charity of the donor's choice.
