Bathurst - It is with immeasurable sadness that we, the family, announce the death of Wayne Hachey, husband of Jeanne Hachey, which occurred suddenly Friday December 2nd, 2022, at the age of 62.

Born in Bathurst he was the son of late Mary Hachey and Emile Hachey.

Besides his wife Jeanne Hachey (Legacy), he is survived by his children Jason (Nicole) of Dieppe, Cory (Celina) of Dieppe, Jenna (Chad) of Bathurst, his grandchildren Ethan, Bryson, Savannah and Teegan, who held a very special place in his heart.

He is also survived by his sisters Wanda Hachey, and Shirley Daley (Late Myles). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law.

Besides his parents, he was also predeceased by a brother Gilbert Hachey and his best friend Arthur Gosnell.

He will be greatly missed by many in the community, and the many customers at the Big Deal Market. For those who knew Wayne, the Big Deal Market was his home, and favorite place to be. He greeted everyone with a great big smile under his memorable mustache and was always ready to help any customer in need. Customers will remember him by his generosity and his conversations that usually led out to the parking lot. He will always be remembered as Father Hachey to many, he left us with many great conversations and memories to cherish and laugh about.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, December 7th from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.at Elhatton’s Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 8th at 11 a.m. from Elhatton’s Funeral Home Chapel.
