It is with great sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of our mother, Lucille DeSilva, wife of the late Alvin DeSilva, which occurred at the Chaleur Regional Hospital in Bathurst on June 6th, 2023 at the age of 82.

Born in LeGoulet, she was the daughter of the late Valère and Bella Mallet.

She is survived by her six children: Jean Marc DeSilva (Suzanne) of Bathurst, Maurice DeSilva (Linda) of Bathurst, Ron DeSilva (Kim) of Dieppe, Suzanne Pelletier (Marc) of Fredericton, Joanne DeSilva (Greg West) of Bathurst and Guy DeSilva (Charline Ouellette) of Bathurst.

Grandchildren: Danica, Daniel, Christopher, Michel, Alexandre, Matthew, Samantha, Eric, Kyle, Sacha and great-grandchildren: Ellis, Lincoln, Lily and Rhys.

Two sisters whom she loved dearly: Louise Anne Mallet and Demerise Borris.

Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by two sisters: Marina and Jeannette.

The family would like to thank the personnel of the palliative care department for their support and care during their mother’s last days.

A funeral mass will be celebrated Monday, June 12th at 2:00 p.m. from Sacred Heart Cathedral, Bathurst. Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton’s Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.

Donations in memory of Lucille may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or a charity of the donor’s choice.
