Bathurst- Kevin Good passed away peacefully on December 11th with his family lovingly by his side.
He is survived by his wife Lynne (Perron) Good, his daughter Whitney (Kris) Boucher of Rough Waters, his granddaughter Emelyn Boucher and one brother, Terry (Karla Coughlan) of Bathurst. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by an infant brother, Garth.
Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Wentworth “Wentie” and Constance “Connie” (Treadwell) Good.
Kevin owned and operated, with his brother Terry, the family business Good Brothers Ltd. in Big River, established in 1956 by their father and his brothers, Purdy and Martin. Working along side their father and uncles formed very meaningful relationships and community bonds.
Kevin’s love of the woods started at a young age. His father Wentie encouraged the joy that the outdoors could bring, a tradition that Kevin instilled in his daughter and granddaughter. From canoeing to snowmobiling he loved it all. Kevin and Lynne could be found at their camp, Little Elbow Lodge, every chance they had with Whitney and her family where friends and family and drop-ins were always welcome. Music, songs and guitars were part of the atmosphere at the camp, oftentimes into the wee hours of the morning.
The family would like to thank Dre. Cauchon, Dr. Ferguson, Dr. Ratte, and the staff of the ICU and Palliative Care unit at the Chaleur Regional Hospital for their loving care and support.
Funeral Service will be held on Friday, December 15, 2023, at 2p.m. from the First United Church, Bathurst.
“If from life you take the best,
And if in life you keep the jest,
If the love you hold,
No matter how the years go by,
No matter how the birthdays fly,
You are never old”
Donations in memory of Kevin may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of the donor’s choice. Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.
