It is with great sadness that we the family announce the death of Franklin Gordon Daley. Which occurred at the Robert L. Knowles Veteran’s Unit on Sunday, January 14, 2024, at the age of 88.
Born in Janeville he was the son of the late Franklin Daley and the late Velma (Good) Daley.
He leaves to mourn his wife Charlene (Miller) Daley of 68 years. Two sons: Dean of Bathurst and Vaughn (Carol) of Janeville. Three daughters: Darlene Dempsey (late Alfred) of Bathurst, Lora Hornbrook (Alfred) of Stonehaven and Deanna Parrott (Gary) of Salmon Beach, NB.
Nine grandchildren: Mathew, Rocky, Tyler (Honey), Mindy, Nicholas, Patrick (Katelyn), Danielle (Nicholas), Jessica, and Adam.
Five great grandchildren: Connor, Lane, Brielle, Jaxon, and Emmett.
Two brothers: Clifford (Patsy) of Janeville and Byron (Sandra) of Bathurst. Four sisters: Ina Pettigrew (late Howard) of Bathurst, Jean Ellis (late Donald) of Janeville, Hazel Carroll (late Edmund) of Bathurst and Joy Meahan (William) of Bathurst.
Survived by his sister-in-law: Edith Daley.
He was predeceased by his brother Baden.
Frank worked 38 years for the provincial government; was a lobster fisherman for 55 years. He was a dedicated volunteer firefighter for the New Bandon-Salmon Beach Fire Department for 37 years and a member of the Central United Church, Clifton. He was a dedicated father and took great pride in his grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Robert L. Knowles Veteran’s Unit, whose warmth and kindness was like family.
A visitation will be held on Friday, February 16, 2024, from 7-9. At Elhatton’s Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at 10 a.m. from Elhatton’s Funeral Chapel, Bathurst.
Donations in memory of Frank may be made to the NBSB Volunteer fire Department, the Central United Church or a charity of the donor’s choice.
