It is with great sadness, we, the family, wish to inform you of the passing of Mr. Albert Blanchard, husband of Jeannette Blanchard, from Beresford and formerly of Dalhousie. He passed away at the Chaleur Regional Hospital in Bathurst on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at the age of 86. Born in Dalhousie, he was the son of the late Hilaire Blanchard and the late Regina Tardif. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two sons: Jean-Pierre Blanchard (Natalie) of Petit-Rocher and Michael Blanchard of Saint John, NB. He also leaves behind his grandchildren: Maryse of Petit-Rocher and Mathieu of Dieppe, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Albert had a great love for nature and enjoyed ATV rides, camping, and fishing. He worked at the paper mill in Dalhousie for most of his life until his retirement. He now rests alongside his sisters, Antoinette and Irène, and his brother, Antonio. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. A family celebration of his life will take place at a later date.
