Bathurst – Henri Godin, husband of the late Évangéline (Blanchard) Godin, of Auberge Du Soleil, Dieppe and formerly of Bathurst, passed away on Monday August 19, 2024, with his family by his side, at the Dr. George L. Dumont Hospital, Moncton, at the age of 96.

Born in Plaster Rock, he was the son of the late Théophile and Edna (Comeau) Godin.

He was retired from the former Smurfit Stone Paper Mill in Bathurst.

He is survived by four sons: Jean-Guy (Heather) of Alliston, ON, Ronald (Olive) of Dieppe,  Robert (Susan) of Moncton and Michel of Bathurst.

Five grandchildren: Danielle, Jennifer, Michel, Giselle, Daniel and seven great-grandchildren Quinn, Morgan, Tessa, Avery, Ally, Louis and Jeremy.

Four sisters: Gilberte Landry (late Clovis) of Dalhousie, Yvette Haché (late Claude) of Bertrand, Irène Cormier (late Rhéal) of Caraquet and Denise Power (Denis) of Dieppe.

One brother, André (Hectorine) of Paquetville.

Several nieces and nephews.

Beside his parents, he was pre-deceased by a sister, Rita Gionet (late Osias).

The family will receive relatives and friends after 12 p.m. Monday August 26th,2024 at Elhatton’s Funeral Home Chapel (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst, from where the funeral service will be celebrated at 2 p.m.
