It is with great sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of Thomas Gallant, of North Tetagouche, which occurred at the Chaleur Regional Hospital on Monday October 28, 2024, at the age of 74.
Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Yvon Gallant and the late Bertha (Arseneau) Gallant.
Tom graduated from Leblanc high and continued his education at the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton.
Before his retirement he was a Bio engineer for the Chaleur Regional Hospital. He also worked as a project coordinator for the University of New Brunswick.
Tom had many interests, he played in the band the Good Old Boys. He enjoyed playing football while in university and enjoyed travelling and spending time outdoors taking in the many walking trails around the city and all over the province.
He was the glue that held our family together and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years Irma (Coombs) Gallant. He was the love of her life.
Four children: Sylvia Basque (Donald) of Rough Waters, Keith Chamberlain of North Tetagouche, Thomas Chamberlain (Ranetha) of Moncton and Rachel Thibeault (Pierre) of Bathurst.
Seven grandchildren: Who lovingly called him papa, Ashley, Tanner, Chelsey, Emma, Jacob, Sebastien, Danika and one great grandson: Matthieu.
One brother Claude Gallant (Rita) of Bathurst.
Several nieces and nephews.
There will be a private family service held at a later date.
Donations in memory of Thomas may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
