Petit-Rocher Ouest - Peacefully, with family at his side, George Joseph Roy, of Petit-Rocher Ouest, passed away on Saturday November 23, 2024, at the Chaleur Regional Hospital at the age of 71.

Loving husband of almost 42 years of Nicole (St-Vincent) Roy.

Proud father of Adam (Kelsey), Dominic (Megan McNaughton) and Mario (Mallory).

Cherished Pépère of Cooper, Colby, Tucker and Liam.

Eldest son of the late Nazaire and Dorilda Roy and dear brother of Alvin (Christine), Francois (Sylvie), Jean Louis, and Annie.

Beloved brother-in-law to the many brothers and sisters of the St. Vincent family.

Fondly remembered by lifelong friend Pierre Paul (Lynn) Roy, and cousin Robert Frenette.

Following in his father’s footsteps, George took immense pride in his work as a carpenter. No project too big or small- from small furniture and finishings to new home builds, he was dedicated to his craft and making others happy with his work. His woodworking shop was his sanctuary.

His strong work ethic and passion took him working around the world in North Korea, Japan, Spain, England and throughout Canada.

The family would like to thank Dr Marilène Haché, Dr Maltais, and all the staff at the Chaleur Regional Hospital who went above and beyond in their care and compassion for George.

As per George’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no service. Arrangements are in the care of Heritage Funeral Home (www.mfheritage.com) Beresford.
