It is with heavy hearts that we, the family, announce the passing of John Fitters which occurred following a short battle with cancer at the Chaleur Regional Hospital on Christmas Day, Wednesday, December 25th, 2024. John was 73 years old.
Born in 1951 in the Netherlands, he was the son of the late Gerry and Maria (Hendriks) Fitters.
John leaves behind his beloved partner, Chantal Thériault, stepson Randy (Kristine) and granddaughter, Kassie.
He also leaves behind his siblings: Mary Ann Fitters (Mike Kolynko) of Bathurst and Bill Fitters of Edmonton, AB as well as a niece, Barbara and a nephew, Richard.
John enjoyed playing many sports and loved music. He liked fast sports cars and enjoyed many road trips with his friends. He had a great love of animals, including his dogs Tigger and Sammy. John had the greatest heart and was always willing to help anyone in need.
He also leaves behind his best buddies, John Gray (Josée) of Moncton and Roy Badman (Gail) of Bathurst as well as several other friends, too many to count.
The family would like to thank the oncology department at the Georges L. Dumont Hospital in Moncton and the staff at the Chaleur Regional Hospital for the care he received during his stay.
John will be sadly missed by all his family and friends. His partner Chantal will carry him forever in her heart. Until we meet again, Johnny. We will think and speak of you always. Rest in Peace My Love.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Funeral service will be held on Monday, January 6th, 2025, at 2 p.m. from the Elhatton Funeral Home Chapel, Bathurst.
