It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lorne Douglas Swyers Greening at 81 years of age, which occurred at the Chaleur Regional Hospital on Sunday April 20, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in North Sydney NS, he was the son of the late Catherine Gladys (Swyers) and the late Roland Hiram Greening.

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years Elizabeth (Juliano) Greening, three daughters: Christine Greening (Craig Bannon) of Toronto ON, Vicki Bowie (Jason) of Riverview NB, Cathy Chaisson (Stephen) of Fall River NS,

Four grandchildren: Parker and Emma Bowie, Lochlen and Anderson Chaisson.

Two sisters: Donna (Jack) Spencer, Beverley Meikle and brother-in-law Noel Flynn.

Besides his parents he was predeceased by sisters Kathi Greening Lawrence and Marilyn Flynn, and a brother-in-law Ralph Meikle.

A special heartfelt note of appreciation goes out to the palliative care staff at Chaleur Regional Hospital who provided wonderful care to him during his final days with us.

On behalf of his family, we invite all those who knew and loved him to join us for a celebration of life at Elhatton’s Funeral Home Chapel in Bathurst on Thursday, April 24, 2025, at 6:00pm.

Donations in memory of Lorne may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of the donor’s choice.
