Bathurst - Joseph Roy, 59, of Miramichi Road, passed away on Sunday (April 13, 2008) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, after a lengthy illness. Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Alcide and Albina (Grant) Roy. He worked as a wood cutter and painter for most of his life. He is survived by his wife, Linda (Doucet) Roy. Two sons: Daniel of Moncton Robert of Bathurst Tow daughters: Anita Couture (Kevin) of Bathurst Natasha Roy of Bathurst Four sisters: Patsy Legacy, Rosaline Godin (Gerald) and Josephine Nadeau (Vince), all of Bathurst Murielle Patterson (Manfred) of Beresford Four brothers: Lawrence Roy, Alfred Roy, Gilles Roy and Raymond Frenette Roy all of Bathurst 2 grandchildren; André, Christina, several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by 2 brothers; Clarence and Clovis. There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home. Funeral service will be celebrated on Tuesday afternoon (April 15, 2008) at 4:00 p.m. from the Funeral Home Chapel with Father Edmond Chamberlain officiating. Burial will be in the St. Mary's Cemetery, East Bathurst, in the spring.
