Big River - Mrs. Mary Knowles, 81, of Big River and formerly of Toronto and Canobie, passed away on Wednesday (June 25, 2008) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst. Born in Birch River, MB, she was daughter of the late Joseph and Anastasia "Nettie" (Kryska) Frankowski. She was a former employee of General Electric Company in Toronto. She is survived by: Two daughters: Debbie Henry (Jim) of Brampton, ON Diane Ellis (Stephen) of Canobie, NB Brother: Walter Frankowski of Cobourg, ON Step-children: Brian Knowles of Oromocto, NB Preston Knowles (Elaine) of Clifton, NB Wanda Ellis (Sydney Smith) of Brampton, ON Darlene Weichel (Ross) of Parry Sound, ON Harry Knowles (Kim) and Laurie Knowles (Dora Mae) both of Clifton, NB Grandchildren; Michael, Jennifer, Carolyn, Kathryn, Amanda and great-grandson; Alex. 15 step-grandchildren, 17 step-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by brothers; John, Mike, Stan, sister; Polly, the father of her children; Morris Knowles and a step-daughter; Beryl. The body will rest after 2 p.m. Sunday (June 29, 2008) at Elhatton's Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst, NB. Funeral Service will be held on Monday (June 30, 2008) at 2:00 p.m. from the Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Eagles officiating. Visiting hours are Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9.
