Alvina Lavigne 1915 - 2008 Alvina Lavigne, age 93 years, of Moncton and formerly of Bathurst, NB; passed away peacefully with all her family at her side at Lefurgey Residence in Moncton, on Sunday, June 29, 2008. Born in Tracadie, NB; she was the daughter of the late Gedeon and Clementine (Arseneau) Landry. She was retired as a Nurses Aid. Alvina attended St. Theresa Roman Catholic Church in Bathurst and Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Riverview. She was a member of the C.W.L. in Bathurst. She will be sadly missed by her daughter Anne MacLean of Moncton; her sons John J. (Ann) Lavigne of Moncton, Peter (Chris) Lavigne of Niagara Falls, Thomas D. (Connie) Lavigne of Riverview, and Anthony (Marina) Lavigne of Bathurst, two brothers Phil Landry of Sudbury, ON, Romeo McGraw of Tracadie-Sheila, NB; nine grandchildren Judie MacLean, Scott MacLean, Marissa Spence, Michelle Murray, Melanie Nash, Loree Poirier, Jessica Lavigne, Anneka Lavigne and Bianca Lavigne and eight great grandchildren Jeffrey, Ashley, Jodi, Cody, Jessica, Kayla, Madison and Ashlee; as well as nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband John Lavigne in 1991 and by two sisters Laura Savoie and Sarah Aubie. Visitation at Riverview Funeral Home 214 Pine Glen Rd. Riverview on Monday, June 30, 2008 from 7 to 9pm. Visitation at Elhatton Funeral Home 187 St. George St. Bathurst, NB on Tuesday, July 1, 2008 from 7 to 9pm. The Funeral Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Cathedral Roman Catholic Church in Bathurst, NB on Wednesday, July 2, 2008 at 11:00 am with Fr. Greg Culligan officiating. Interment will be in St. Theresa Parish Cemetery in Bathurst. Donations in Alvina's memory made to charity of the donors choice would be appreciated by her family.
