Bathurst – Mrs. Simonne Landry,78 , wife of the late Roger Landry, formerly of Stout Court, Bathurst, passed away on Monday October 13th, 2008, at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst. Born in Bathurst, she was the daughter of the late Randolph and Celia (Mallet) Frenette. Simonne graduated from the Hotel Dieu School of Nursing. She worked for Dr. Blair Orser for many years and Dr. Wright, up until her retirement . She was an avid golfer and bridge player and a member of Gowan Brae Golf and Country Club until her death. She is survived by: Her granddaughters; Alysa and Lauren Daley, her son in law, Keith Daley (Chantal), and was a special Grammie to Jillian Daley. Her sisters; Hermance (Paul) Melanson of Bathurst Hermine (Guy) Sexton of New Richmond, Que. Annette Frenette of Montreal Ginette (Frank) Beaulieu of Quebec, Que. Her brothers; Ulric (Yolande) Petit-Rocher Roger (Georgie), of Bathurst Alvin (Vaunna) of Moncton Simonne was predeceased by her only child, Charmaine Daley in 1996, and her husband Roger in 2007. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 17th, 2008 at 3:00pm from Elhatton’s Funeral Home Chapel, with Father Greg Culligan officiating. Donations in memory of Simonne may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to a favorite charity. Burial will be in the Holy Family Cemetery, Bathurst. Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton's Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.
