Bathurst … Mrs. Irene Babin, 69, wife of Cyril Babin, of Packard St., Bathurst, passed away on Friday (December 19, 2008) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst, after a lengthy illness. Born in Bathurst, she was the only daughter of Florence (Vienneau) (Léger) Roussy and the late Joseph Edmond Léger and step-daughter to the late Eugene Roussy. She was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Women’s League, Bathurst. She worked as an insurance agent in the Bathurst area for over 35 years. Beside her husband and mother of Bathurst, she is survived by: Two daughters: Beverly Ann Babin of Montreal, QC Jan Helene Aubé (Michael) of Oromocto Two sons: Glenn Babin (Shelly) of Kitchener, ON Alan Babin (Brenda Foster) of Aylmer, ON Two sisters: Pauline Lapointe (Joe) of Comox, BC Rose-Marie Clark (Lloyd) of Moncton Two brothers: Paul Roussy of Moncton Peter Roussy (Susan) of Arnprior, ON 11 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. The body will rest after 7 p.m. Saturday at Elhatton's Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday morning (December 22, 2008) at 11:00 a.m. from Holy Family Church, St. Peter Ave., Bathurst. Burial will be in the parish cemetery in the spring. Visiting hours are Saturday from 7 to 9 and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 and on Monday from 9 a.m. until time of Funeral.
