Couture, Philippe - 72, of St. Mary Ave., Bathurst, passed away, December 31, 2008 at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst. Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Abbé and Alexina (Hache) Couture. Philippe was employed with the City of Bathurst, Department of Public Works for 35 years, as a sub foreman. He is survived by his wife Mona M. Dugas; 2 sons: Jean-Pierre (Brenda) of Thompson, Manitoba; Jacques of Bathurst; 2 daughters: Nicole (Jean Giachino) of Bathurst; Natalie (Denis Brideau) of Allardville; 4 grandchildren: Jordan Couture, Samantha Couture, Julie Brideau and Jean-Philippe Brideau. 2 brothers: Thomas (Noella), of Bathurst; Omer (Rose) of Windsor, ON; 6 sisters: Albina Forbes of Sydney, NS; Geraldine Poisson of Windsor, ON; Emilia (Randolph) Dorion of Bathurst; Angelina Bartinski of Sprague, Manitoba; Lydia Brown of Steinbach, Manitoba. He was predeceased by brothers, Martial, Bernard and Wilfred; sisters: Rose, Lillian, Evelyn and Florence. The family will receive friends at the Elhatton Funeral Home Chapel, after 1pm on Saturday, January 3, 2009, to followed by the service at 2 pm.
