Bathurst- Mr. Gerald Roy, husband of Isabelle Roy of Dumaresq St., in Bathurst passed away suddenly on Sunday 25 January 2009 at the Chaleur Regional Hospital in Bathurst at the age of 62. Born in Bathurst, Gerald was the son of the late Aloysius and the late Cécile (Lagacé) Roy. Gerald was a 40-year employee of the City of Bathurst. He enjoyed being a member of the "Pizza Delight" Good Timers ball team. Besides his loving wife of 40 years, Gerald is survived by: His only son; Guy (Monique) Roy and two beautiful granddaughters, Valerie and Victoria of Bathurst. 2 sisters: Alma (Vincent) Couture of Bathurst, Denise Roy of Ontario. 1 brother, Richard (Carole) Roy of Ontario. Brothers and sisters will sadly miss him in law, nieces and nephews. The family will receive relatives and friends at Elhatton Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), 187 St. George, in Bathurst on Wednesday 28th January 2009 after 2:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday 29 January 2009 from the Sacred Heart Cathedral, St. Andrew St., in Bathurst at 4:00 p.m. In Memory of Gerald, donations may be made to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of the donor's choice.
