Bathurst - John Boyd, 85, of Bridge St., Bathurst, died Friday (February 20, 2009) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst, after a lengthy illness. Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Malcolm and Laura (Gosnell) Boyd. He worked as the grounds keeper at the Highland View Cemetery. He is survived by: Three brothers: Kenneth Boyd (Margaret), Joseph Boyd and Leonard Boyd (Germaine), all of Bathurst Several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by a sister, Margaret and a brother, William “Bill”. The body will rest after 2 p.m. Sunday at Elhatton's Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday (February 24, 2009) at 1:00 p.m. from St. George's Anglican Church, King Ave., Bathurst. Burial will be in the Highland View Cemetery, Bridge St, in the spring. Visiting hours are Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9.
