At the Chaleur Regional Hospital in Bathurst, New Brunswick on Thursday, November 4, 2010 in his 94  year.  Beloved and loving husband of 66 years of Dorothy (Hoffen); his son and daughter-in-law Peter Townsend and Rosalind Kennedy-Townsend of North Tetagouche, New Brunswick; and two treasured grandsons Chad and Clay of Halifax, NS; sister Neilia (the late Bruce) Morton of St.Catharines, Ontario.  He was predeceased by his parents George and Elizabeth Townsend and a sister Ruth (the late Joe) Brewer.
 
Born in Jordan Station, Ontario, he was a lifelong resident of St.Catharines, Ont. and also maintained a summer home at Youghall Beach in Bathurst, NB for the past 16 years.  Frank was employed as the office manager of Jordan Wines until his retirement in 1982.
 
Frank was a member of Knox Presbyterian Church in St. Catharines for over 60 years and was a member of the choir and a church elder.  He was also an adherent of St. Luke's Presbyterian Church in Bathurst.  A member of St. Andrews Lodge A.F. and A.M. and a Mason for over 65 years, he was also a member and past president of the St. Catharines’ Shrine Club.  He was a member of the Scottish Rite and Rameses Temple of Toronto.  Frank was the past Grand Patron of the Eastern Star of Ontario and a life member of Lincoln Chapter St. Catharines.
As per his wishes, the body will be cremated followed by a family grave site committal in Windsor, Nova Scotia.  Arrangements will be handled by Elahtton's Funeral Home in Bathurst.
Following a private family memorial, the family will be hosting friends between 2 and 4 pm at St. Luke's Presbyterian Church on Monday, November 8 2010.  In lieu of flowers, the family would suggest donations to the Shriners' Hospital for Sick Children, Canadian Unit.
