Big River, NB - Omer Doucet, 81, of Big River, passed away on Monday (December 27, 2010) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst.

Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Henry and Marie (Legacy) Doucet.

He was a former employee of Brunswick Mills for over 25 years.

Besides his wife, Jeannette (Daigle) Doucet, he is survived by; six children, Gilbert (Leah) of Bathurst, Eugene (Linda Chamberlain) of Corona, ON, Jean Claude of Bathurst, Joyce Doucet of Bathurst, Sandra Doucet (Michel Duguay) of Moncton, and Sonia Doucet of Germany, daughter-in-law Adeline Doucet of Saint John, NB.

One sister, Yvonne Gray of Bathurst.

12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

He was pre-deceased by a son, Gerald in 2003.

The body will rest after 2 p.m. Wednesday at Elhatton's Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday afternoon (December 30, 2010) at 4 p.m. from the Sacred Heart Cathedral, St. Andrew St., Bathurst.  Visiting hours are Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 and Thursday from 2 p.m. until time of Funeral.
