  •  Date de décès: 25 février 2011
  •  Emplacement: Bathurst

Mrs. Jean Johnstone of South Tetagouche, NB, passed away peacefully, at the age of 91 years, on Friday, February 25th, 2011, at the Chaleur Regional Hospital.  She was predeceased by her loving husband, Blair, and daughter, Debra "Blue" Anne Wright.

Born in Plaster Rock, NB, Jean was the daughter of late Robert Gordon and late Della (Howlett) MacFarlane.

Jean was an avid outdoor enthusiast, teacher and mentor, as well as an excellent cook, as her family and friends will attest.  Organized to a fault, but ever so diplomatic, she always ran the show (and very well at that), perhaps a throw back to her Veteran military and teaching days.

Jean is survived by her two sons, Chuck (Claire Doucet) and Ken (Eliane Dumaresq); son-in-law, Peter Wright; her seven grandchildren, Michelle, Danielle (Patrick Gilbert), Laura (Mike Pitre), Jeff (Carla Lemus-Acevedo), Lindsey (Andrew Winsor), Oakly, Aja; and five great grand-children, Alyssa, Katie, Carley, Havanna and Preston.  Jean is also survived by one sister, Pat (Bill Alford), her sister-in-law, Edith "Teddy" Fazekas, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral arrangements are in the hands of Elhatton’s Funeral Home, Bathurst. (www.elhatton.com).  There will be no visitation and a memorial service will be held in the spring.  In lieu of flowers, the Family would appreciate a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Chaleur Regional Hospital Foundation or some favorite charity.
