Big River - Freeman Leet, 68, of Big River, passed away on Tuesday (November 29, 2011) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst.

Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Freeman and Mary (Legacy) Leet.

He worked as a heavy equipment operator retiring from the Bathurst Regional Airport.

Besides his wife, Jeannine (Lavigne) Leet, he is survived by: Four sons: Kevin (Dave) of Mississauga, ON, Kenneth of Yellowknife, NWT, Karl (Christina) of Toronto, ON and Allen (Joleen DeGrace) of Big River. One brother, Fred Leet (Rose) of Bathurst. One sister, Joan Aubie of Bathurst. Three grandchildren: Andrew, Jennifer and Shannon, several nieces and nephews.

The body will rest after 2 p.m. Friday at Elhatton's Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday (December 3, 2011) at 2 p.m. from the Funeral Home Chapel, St. George St., Bathurst. Visiting hours are Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Donations in memory of Freeman may be made to the Extra Mural Program, the Lung Association or a favorite charity.
